| What is an average training week? Swim: 10,000-12,000m; Bike: 135-180 miles; Run: 30-40 miles; Weights: 1 day; Yoga: 1-2 days Why do you enjoy what you do so much? I started racing triathlons in 1985 when I was 15. Training and racing are some much a part of my life now, I would not know what to do with myself if I wasn't working out! I love the challenge of racing the "unknown" course and traveling, especially to Europe, for races. The entire lifestyle that triathlons require inspires and motivates me everyday, even in the dead of winter. What are your goals? I am coming off having missed all but one race in the 2008 season due to back surgery, I have had to modify my training routine (especially my running plan) in an effort to prevent re-herniating my back. Despite the experimental training plan, I am psyched to be racing again in 2009! Most significant achievement? Being a daughter about whom my Mom can be proud! Most exciting event or adventure? In terms of racing, it has to be the old Ironman Europe course in Roth. Racing through the German villages and being greeted on the climbs with the parting crowds screaming… WOAH!!! Greatest indulgence? Chocolate or Training – take your pick! Thoughts on Jaggad apparel? I am very psyched about racing for a company that is getting a foothold in the US. I enjoy being on the front end of this sport. I started racing when I was 15 as triathlon was starting in Florida. Ever since, I have tried to stay at the forefront of technology and love racing at first-time events! The thrill of the unknown inspires me. Final Words? Train smarter; Race strong!
