What do you do? I am a full time employee for the Department of Defence, however I plan on cutting my hours down in the future so that I can focus on achieving in the sport of Triathlon. What is an average training week? 3 swims (not really many km's as I come from a swimming background). 5 bike rides totaling approx 400kms (1 time trial, 1 long ride, 2 power/spin and 1 easy ride). 6 runs totaling approx 70kms (1 speed, 2 easy, 2 long & 1 moderate length run off the bike) Why do you enjoy what you do so much? The challenge and the fact that in order to obtain results you have to work for it. There is not much luck involved in Triathlon. What are your goals? My short term goals for 2008 are as follows: Top 10 Australian Olympic Distance Nationals. Top 10 Australian Sprint Distance Nationals. Top 10 Mooloolaba Open Pro Wave. Top 10 Gold Coast World Champ Trial Race (Pro). Top 6 Noosa Triathlon (Pro). Top 2 ACT Olympic Distance Champs. Improve my run. My Medium Term Goals: Top 5 at an Australian National Championship (doesn't matter what distance). Be awarded an academy of sport scholarship from the ACT. Selection in a shadow squad for a World Championship. Start in a World Cup race. My Long Term Goals: Selection in an Australian World Championship Squad. Top 10 at an ITU World Cup Race. Become fully professional. Improve my run. Most significant achievement? Bronze medal at 2007 World Champs, Gold medal at 1998 Junior Nationals or being competitive at the 2001 Sydney Youth Olympics against guys 3 years older than me. Most exciting event or adventure? 2007 World Champs because it was the first time I had ventured overseas and been exposed to different cultures. Greatest indulgence? I love my vanilla ice cream with choc magic or pavola. Thoughts on Jaggad apparel? Jaggad ensures that each athlete who purchases their product receives the very best in comfort and style for Triathlon clothing and apparel. Jaggad achieves this by vigorously testing their garments under a variety of weather conditions using athletes of all shapes and sizes. Final Words? We only get one life, so live it.
