| What do you do? My two full- time jobs are as a Strength and conditioning coach/ manager at a multi purpose Fitness Facility ( Wayside Racquet and Swim Club), as well as my coaching business (TC2 coaching). When not doing either, I train 2-3 hrs per day and am the father/ husband of 2 great kids, and an awesome wife. What is an average training week? Swim 5 days per week (10-12k), Bike 6 days per week (150-200 miles), run 5 days per week (30-40 miles), strength train 2-3 times per week. Why do you enjoy what you do so much? I have been fortunate enough to be racing at a high level for over 20 years. I am privileged to be working with several high level professionals in the sport ( Heather Gollnick, Jarrod Shoemaker, Ethan Brown, and Alicia Kaye). I do not have a lot of natural talent in any discipline. I love to read, learn and experiment in training. This has helped me as an athlete, and even more as a coach. There is always something to work on and improve. It is a continuous process. What are your goals? My personal athletic goal is to continue to be at the front end of the race for many years to come, and hopefully win a few more. I would also like to race at World Championships in Winter triathlon (running, mountain biking and XC skiing all on snow). As a coach, I want to lead my athletes to medals at World Championships and Olympics this year. Most significant achievement? Being named the 2007 USAT Developmental Coach of the Year. It was flattering to be named to this honor, since there are so many great knowledgeable coaches in this country. To me it was a culmination of training, racing and coaching over the past 20 years.
Most exciting event or adventure? Being at the finish line when Heather won Ironman Louisville last year. This was the first time I was able to watch one of my athletes win an IM event. It was a very cool experience. I am also looking forward to going to Beijing Olympics as a coach. Greatest indulgence? Coffee. It should have its own separate food group. It helps to keep me firing on all cylinders all day. Thoughts on Jaggad apparel? I first saw Jaggad at IM Louisville last year, when I saw Chris McDonald wear it to victory. This began my researching the product, and liked everything I saw and read. I love the technical clothing and the innovation of the products. I am very excited to represent Jaggad in my racing, training and coaching. Final Words? Jaggad will be a great asset to my training, racing and coaching. In the pursuit of maximizing ones potential, Jaggad will provide me with the best technical clothing to race and train in. I am very pleased to be associated with such a dynamic company.
