Belinda Granger Reviews Womens Edge Cycle Shorts

Activities this garment would be good for: Training Rides - particularly longer rides.

Review of Garment: A very comfy short. I particularly like wearing this short on my longer rides, where I know I am going to be on my saddle and down in the aero position for a long time. I want and need to be comfortable in order to get the most out of myself. These shorts allow this as a result of the 4th dimension chamois and the fact that the leg gripper means no movement (the legs do not ride up).

The Edge Shorts are my favorite for those 100 mile training rides. The thicker pad and superb fabric keep me comfortable mile after mile.

What types of activities do you think this garment would be good for? All cycling.

Garment fabric, fit, style, performance?: Very good quality – I still use a pair that I first purchased 2+ years ago and they are in great condition. I personally do not use these for racing but I have heard reports from other women that they find these shorts comfortable for the duration of an ironman race!

Overall: This is my absolute favourite garment of the Jaggad range. Cycling in these knicks is like cycling sitting on a cushion. Every serious triathlete/cyclist should own a pair. I train for Ironman distance triathlons and I can honestly say that my complaint at the end of a long ride (7+hours) is not about my sore butt!

What types of activities do you think this garment would be good for? Swimming, riding and running in triathlons.

Comments on fabric: Cycle shorts. Chamois padding for comfort. Stretch material that doesn’t restrict riding.

Overall: These Edge shorts whilst primarily made for cycling, were just fine for long distance triathlon. Even in a non wetsuit swim, the shorts didn’t stretch with in the water and were amazingly comfortable in the heat, humidity and long distances. I choose to keep wearing them for the 42.2km run section and with a dose of anti-chafing cream, they still didn’t rub. The most comfortable cycling shorts I have ever used.

Comments of fit/style: I loved the look of the shorts. The fabric was awesome and they did not ride up at all.

Comments on chamois/pad: The chamois/pad was awesome. I usually get rubbed quite a bit, but you can tell these were designed specifically for women and I didn't get any rubbing at all and they were super comfortable.

What types of activities do you think this garment would be good for? Cycling: Racing or training (road or mountain bike) in a range of temperatures for short or long durations. A good all round cycling short for women.

Comments on fit/style: Love the external leg gripper as it doesn’t move. Waistband very comfortable and perfect height for me. Nice leg length (I prefer longer leg length for training especially long rides). Very flattering fit for women, no bulges, nice and snug. Chamois moulds well to the body.

Comments on fabric: Good sheen (don’t like shinny cycling shorts). Lovely feel to the fabric and good thickness. Often a lot of cycling shorts are too thin for athletes doing a lot of km’s on the bike each week or rides of longer durations and the shorts just don’t last. Breathes well and draws sweat. Holds its shape well after exercise and washing. Looks really good!!!! Nice placement of the Jaggad logo.

Comments on chamois/pad: This is by far one of the most comfortable chamois I have ridden in. Normally I find most cycling shorts padding is too bulky and not the right shape, meaning it moves when you are cycling does not grip the skin properly causing chaffing!!! The 4th Dimension Chamois was a great fit and seemed to mould to your body shape really well. The first time I wore the Edge short I was able to ride 5 1/5 hours without any problems! The other (and very important) thing I like about this chamois is that it doesn’t make your bum look enormous.

Overall: A very comfortable cycling short for long rides. The Edge short fits like a glove!!!
