Serin Robertson Reviews Womens Trifecta Shorts

What types of activities do you think this garment would be good for? Cycling, Triathlon, Brick sessions

Comments on fit & style: I am in between sizes and chose to go with the smaller size as I prefer a firmer fit. This means the leg grippers are a little tighter than I would like, but are not at all uncomfortable. They look great, and come in a good range of colours to mix and match with your tops.

Comments on fabric: Fabric has a nice solid feel to it, not too stretchy, so it retains it's shape and provides support when wet as well as when dry.

Summary

Swim: Comfortable and secure.

Ride: These are my favourite shorts for long rides, and are replacing all my old cycle-specific shorts, as these are simply more comfortable. The chamois is the best I have used, it is good in both aero and upright positions, doesn't move around or bunch up, and stays cool and comfortable for hours and hours on end.

Run: My first run in these shorts had me quite concerned - the chamois felt quite chunky, and although it didn't chaffe, I could feel it for the duration of the run. I have since learned that it is a good idea to 'break-in' the chamois before running. After several long rides and subsequent washings, the chamois softened a little and was much more comfortable when running. After washing, the chamois feels a little chunky again when you first put the shorts on, but after sitting on the bike, it moulds itself to the right shape again and feels great on the run.

Overall: After several races (from sprint to Ironman) and many long training rides, I remain very impressed with all aspects of the shorts, but particularly the chamois. From day one they are super comfortable on the bike, and after being worn and washed a few times, they are perfect for running off the bike as well.

Belinda Granger Reviews Womens Trifecta Shorts

I tested these shorts in Kona, Hawaii where the temperature was over 30 degrees Celsius and over 80% humidity!

Test 1 : Time-Trial - 100km time-trial. The Trifecta Shorts was one of the most comfortable cycling shorts I have used!

Test 2 : Brick Sessions - These shorts were excellent, really a first in the market. The cycling was extremely comfortable and for the run, you can feel the chamois is but it is extremely comfortable and not chaffing or problems with the run.

Test 3 : Swim - I did a swim in these shorts with and without a wetsuit to see how they would perform. They were great. I didn't feel any noticeable drag, the shorts including the legs stayed in place and I exited the water for a run no problems at all.

Overall Comments - This is a great short and I definitely think there are a lot of ladies out there that will benefit from the extra support and comfort. The leg length is great, it's half way between a longer traditional cycling leg length and shorter tri short.

Alison Coyle Reviews Womens Trifecta Shorts

I tested these shorts in cool, warm and wet humid weather and was really surprised by the results.

Test 1 : Time-Trial - I tested over a number of 100km + rides in the time-trial position. The Trifecta Chamois was extremely comfortable and I really liked that there was padding right up front for the time-trial position. These shorts were as comfortable on the bike as any of the "bike specific" shorts such as the Edge Shorts!

Test 2 : Brick Sessions - These shorts were much better than a normal cycling short because you could run off the bike. As the chamois is thicker than a standard tri short, you do feel the chamois is there, but only for a minute and then you don't even notice. A very versatile short.

Test 3 : Swim - I did a swim in these shorts with and without a wetsuit to see how they would perform. They were great. I didn't feel any noticeable drag, the shorts including the legs stayed in place and I exited the water for a run no problems at all.

Overall Comments - These shorts are fantastic for any triathlete or cyclist. I love the funky colours and design. I would recommend them for brick training sessions and medium to long course triathlon. They are perfect for doing an Ironman event without any clothing changes. Those ladies who struggle with comfort won't any longer!

Jacqui Benoit Reviews Womens Trifecta Shorts

A fantastic new design in women’s triathlon shorts. Specifically made to increase comfort whilst on the bike, especially during endurance distance racing. At last, a Tri short for the ladies!

The best feature of the Trifecta Short is the Trifecta Chamois! The difference between the Trifecta Short and the Sprint Short in terms of comfort on the bike is quite significant. I rode in both pairs one after the other to compare and the padding in the Trifecta Short makes such a big difference in terms of comfort! The way the chamois is spread slightly wider and slightly thinner than a normal cycling short gives them a nice look when they are on the body as well as the versatility to run in the shorts comfortably.

What types of activities do you think this garment would be good for?
Triathlon racing: Olympic, Half and Ironman distance racing.
Brick sessions: Ride/run, swim/run

Comments on fabric: I think that the two color schemes that you have put together for the Trifecta shorts are the most attractive I have seen so far. I can’t decide whether I like the ones I have (black/white/pink) or the other colors more (blue/pink/carbon).
I think that the thickness of the shorts fabric is quite good.
I also like the design of the waist and leg bands which can be turned over to show the black band or kept tucked under.
Fabric was excellent in terms of retaining shape after wearing and washing.

Comments on fit/style: The leg length of the Trifecta Short was ideal for the ride/run combination of a brick session or during a race. The external leg elastic held well also.

I would definitely wear these as opposed to any other Tri short in a race of Olympic, half or Ironman distance.

Amy Adcock Reviews Womens Trifecta Shorts

Race Conditions – Hot & Humid – Wetsuit swim – Duration: Race #1: 2:25; Race #2 1:30

Comments on fit/style: I have found my race shorts! The Trifecta Shorts are the perfect fit for a race of any length. They are not so short that they ride up while cycling, but they are not so long that you feel like you are running in cycling shorts. Additionally, when putting on my wetsuit, the shorts did not roll up under the wetsuit – which has always been annoying in other tri shorts.

Comments on fabric: The cut and seams were nice in that they did not rub, especially around the chamois.

Comments on chamois/pad: The chamois feels just a tad too thick right off the bike and if the shorts get wet from dousing yourself with water while running. However, I am not sure if I would want it to be much thinner for longer races in terms of padding for the bike ride. The chamois did feel a little less bulky in my second race. I think it was a combination of breaking in the pad and not getting too soggy on the run. With that in mind, there was no chaffing, no movement, it was comfortable on the bike & run! I am looking forward to testing out the shorts in my half-ironman in four weeks.

Overall, I love these shorts!!!
