A Simple Breakfast Recipe!

 A green smoothie a day…

If you are unsure of what to eat or drink after a workout look no further than a Green Smoothie- simple yet o’ so satisfying!

 

Marika Day, accredited, practising Dietitian and Nutritionist who has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 4 years, currently runs a gut health and nutrition clinic from her studio in Kensington, Sydney and has recently joined forces with Diana and Felicia from Base Body Babes to work at their Base Gym as both a personal trainer and nutritionist!

Marika’s approach to nutrition is scientific with an emphasis on balance, lifestyle change, mental health and the emotional side to food and nutrition and here she shares one of her favourite go-to recipes included in her morning routine. 

 

"This is my post workout breakfast smoothie. I have this at least 3 days a week for a quick breakfast after I train and before I get stuck into work for the day. It has a bit of every, protein, fats, carbs, fibre and greens. Perfect fuel to start the day."

 

Ingredients

30g vanilla WPI

300ml water or almond milk

1 frozen banana 

1 tsp natural peanut butter

1 tsp chia seeds or flaxseeds

1 large handful baby spinach

1/4 tsp cinnamon

6 ice cubes 

 

Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender.
