Kicking off the New Year, in the spirit of being active and getting sporty, comes one of Australia’s iconic sporting events- The Australian Open.

It is over these two weeks that we see Aussies “tune in” around the country to follow the journey of these elite athletes from around the world.

And we thought… what would be more ideal than to have our first range for the year take inspiration from Australia’s past tennis legends, and host our Hannah Collection photo shoot at The Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club – what a location!

In summer people are more inclined to be outdoors, try new sports and stay active. With the Australian Open being in all the news, television and talk of the town, people are drawn to play tennis, as it is social and fun and at the same time, a sweaty workout! Who doesn’t like having a hit and run around… what a way to live a #lifeathletic when it doesn’t even feel like a workout?!

The Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, once the home of the Australian Open (until 1988), is situated in the heart of Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs, and has, for over a century, been lauded as both a great sporting venue and high-class facility for members and guests. Holding grass courts, en tout cas and plexicushion courts, Kooyong endures integrity for their standards of sporting prowess.

The Kooyong Classic, a tournament in the lead-up to the Australian Open, allows fans the opportunity to watch some of the world’s top players play on court with an intimate, up-close experience.

We were lucky enough to shoot with our model, Natalie Roser, and photographer, Chris Grundy, on centre court at Kooyong, capturing the atmosphere from the court to the grandstand. With blue being the base colour of the courts, it made our colours of Azalea and Marina, utilised throughout our Hannah Collection, pop and stand out against the crisp white lines and bright blue.

Hair and makeup stayed sporty and sleek with no distractions, a simple ponytail to support the movement around the court.

With the main elements of this collection being long lines and draping, giving the illusion of a looser fitting garment, teamed with a tighter bottom to form a balanced silhouette, the pieces in this range suited the backdrop perfectly!

A style and look very appealing for playing on the court!

Thank you very much Kooyong for hosting us!

Game. Set. Match!
